Butterfly Way Educare
Butterfly Way Nursery School has been
operating for the past 7 years caring for and educating children from all
cultures of the community in Vrygrond Capricorn Muizenberg. The children
are also given a substantial meal each day and for some children this is
the best meal they get.
Penny Way, the founder and principal, first started in Muizenberg with
refugee children but seeing the tremendous need in the township has
relocated and runs the school from the Link complex where she has 40
children aged between 1-6 years old.
Penny not only gives the children an excellent basic educare but she
teaches them Christian principals and prays with them every day.
There is a tremendous need for this service and Penny daily turns people
away as she does not have the facilities to accommodate more children.
With the help of local churches and concerned citizens, she has renovated
three rooms in the Link but now needs to expand and desperately needs our
help as this building is due to be demolished.
Butterfly Way urgently needs to purchase a plot of land in Vrygrond and
erect a building or similar appropriate accommodation to house the school
so this vital work can continue and expand.
In addition Penny needs more mattresses, blankets, chairs, tables and a
stove, fridge and freezer, lockers, TV, and computer. She needs
stationary, writing materials, educational toys and teaching materials for
the children.
Penny’s vision is to serve the community and surroundings by providing
care and education for those who cannot afford more than minimal fees.
She reaches out to the needy and counseling, providing food and clothing
is part of her mission.
Butterfly Way Nursery school falls under the NPO Vuyolwethu ( Our Pride)
NPO number 050-721-NPO. Office and banking facilities are situated in
Muizenberg.
